What to use.

A basic rule of thumb is anything that will rot (biodegradable) can be used, although meat is not advised. Manure from vegetarian animals can be used but a good mixture of kitchen and garden waste is vital as some items decompose faster then others.

Fruit and veg peelings and scraps.
Rabbit or hamster bedding.
Egg shells.
Tea bags.
Grass cuttings.
Young hedge clippings.
Coffee grounds and filters
Paper towels.
Pine needles and cones.

Seaweed.
Kitchen water (good to moisten your compost!).
