Bulk compost

You can make compost or manure at your home on your own by collecting different biodegradable material in a deep pit and let it worked on by microorganisms for sometime. In order to form bulk compost you will have to collect a lot of dead and waste material. You can take out all the dead and decayed plants from your field, take out the sand or soil that is lying unused; you must also add peel and rotten fruits and vegetables.

The more organic substances you will add in the pit the more amount of compost you will be able to form. When you put in all waste and organic material for compost you must know that the size and quantity of the material will be decreased, for example 1 kg of organic waste products will form manure weighing 600 – 700 grams. The reason for the decrease in the quantity and volume is because when the micro organisms work on the waste products, they produces some gas which escapes in to the surrounding and hence reduces its volume and quantity. In addition, the solid form of the waste products is changed into liquid.

You can purchase compost from market as well. Various shops who deal with agricultural products can provide you with good compost. Before you purchase manure or compost you must enquire the supplier how old, the compost is. The newly made compost and the old compost are not as useful and beneficial as the manure that is prepared two months before. It is fresh, rich in all nutrients and microorganisms have worked n it completely and broken down all complex molecules in to simpler dissolvable molecules that can be absorbed by the roots of the plants easily.
